Fuel surcharge calculator
Freight and haulage contracts peg a surcharge to the price of diesel. Enter your contract baseline, pick a market, and get the surcharge from today's live price — no login, no spreadsheet.
How a fuel surcharge works
Peg table (indexed)
The classic freight model. You agree a baseline diesel price. For every fixed step the current price rises above it, the surcharge on the linehaul goes up by a set percentage — so the carrier is covered when fuel climbs, and the rate falls back when it eases.
Straight pass-through
Simpler: the surcharge is just the difference between today's diesel and your baseline, per litre burned. Multiply by the fuel a job uses and you have the extra to invoice. Common in Europe and Asia.
Where the price comes from
The current diesel figure is our live price for the market you pick, in its own currency, per litre — the same feed behind our 196 country pages and free API. Set your own baseline to match your contract.
